A remote-operated portable alert system has been introduced in NTPC Bongaigaon to ensure safety.
The alert system comes with a red led flasher and siren.

The alert system has been launched to ensure security during the reverse movement of rakes.
This is the first of its kind alert system in NTPC Eastern Region-II HQs.
“Reverse movement of train is not recommended as it is unsafe in any power plant working environment and its operations,” said sources.

“At NTPC Bongaigaon, it is a constraint to move rakes in reverse order for placement of coal rakes in Wagon Tippler,” sources added.
This wireless flasher & siren system gives the user the warning signal through sound and flasher light.
Designed for use in a wide variety of siren applications specially requiring a person’s attention, the alert system is uniquely designed with pleasing aesthetics and rugged construction.
“The alert system is easy, hassle-free and operates on 240V 50Hz mains supply,” said an NTPC Bongaigaon official.
The rake reversal remote-operated alert system was inaugurated by Subrata Mandal, chief general manager (CGM), NTPC Bongaigaon.
The inaugural programme was also attended by Ramakanta Panda, GM (maintenance), Umesh Singh (FM); Ajoy Kumar Dutta, AGM (TS); AK Chawla, AGM (HR); CR Nandi, AGM (FM) and other fuel management members.
