NTPC Bongaigaon has always been concerned for community development of nearby villages and under the aegis of CSR- CD programme, the power station on Saturday donated a community toilet at Salakati Market, Kokrajhar.

The toilet has been built at a cost of Rs 23.80 lakh.

The community toilet was inaugurated by Rakesh Kumar, CGM, NTPC Bongaigaon, who appreciated the efforts of CSR and also highlighted that the maintenance of the facility must be kept in a clean and hygienic manner.

Later, the keys of the community toilet were handed over by Rakesh Kumar to Akhil Ch. Debnath, secretary, Salakati Bazar Committee.

It may be mentioned here that the community toilet was requested by the local community to NTPC to facilitate the people of the area.

The community facility has been constructed by PWD, Kokrajhar, on deposit work basis by NTPC.

The community toilet has provisions for altogether eight toilets for NTPC for gents and toilets.

NTPC Bongaigaon has an installed capacity of 750 MW (3 x250 MW) supplying power to northeastern states.
