Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra has reiterated his appeal to the people to follow all Covid-19 protocols like hand hygiene and social distancing norms so as to stay safe from the virus.

Commending the state government and Covid19 frontline warriors for playing a key role in containing the dreaded virus, the Governor said the battle against the coronavirus pandemic is still on and people should not move out without masks and maintain social distancing at all times.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has to be taken seriously and therefore, we must not put our guards down. Even a small carelessness can cost the lives of many,” Mishra said in his message this evening.

The Governor called upon the elders of the society, community leaders and government officials to advise every citizen to abide by the set of Covid-19 protocols issued by the state government.

“Together, we will fight and defeat this virus,” he said.

Arunachal reported its highest-ever single day recovery of Covid-19 patients on Friday after 424 patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the total number of cured persons to 16,163.

Currently, the state’s recovery rate stands at 97.97%.

Mishra further advised the state government to prepare a tangible system for distribution of Covid-19 vaccines in advance so that once made available, it smoothly reaches the people, who need it the most.

He appreciated the state government for creating Covid-19 task forces at state, district and block levels for the purpose.

Further reposing his faith in the vaccine procurement and distribution effort of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the governor hoped that India will get a safe, effective and affordable Covid-19 vaccine soon.
