In an effort to help adolescent girls manage their periods effectively, the Assamese version of Menstrupedia comic was released in Dibrugarh on Thursday.

The comic was released in a function held at the conference hall of the office of the Dibrugarh deputy commissioner.

The Assamese version of the popular comic book was released as part of Project Sakhi – A ray of Hope, Dibrugarh Chapter.

The project is an initiative of the Dibrugarh district administration in collaboration with ONGCL and UNICEF, Assam with the aim to foster better menstrual hygiene management for girl students.

The comic book, which was released by Dibrugarh deputy commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha on Thursday was published in collaboration with Menstrupedia.

The comic book will be distributed among the adolescent girls’ clubs of ABITA and BCP tea gardens of the district and high schools and the Middle English schools.

The book release function was also attended by divisional WASH consultant, UNICEF, Swetangana Bhuyan, Dibrugarh district development commissioner Partha Pratin Bairagi, additional deputy commissioners Ranjit Konwar and Nandita Baruah among others.
