The indefinite economic blockade, launched against Nagaland by several organisations of Assam in Karbi Anglong, has been suspended.
The organisations have suspended the blockade after Karbi Anglong deputy commissioner Ng. Chandra Dhawj invited the leaders of the agitating organisations for talks on the inter-state border issue.
The Karbi Anglong superintendent of police will also attend the talks.

The decision was shared by the president of Karbi Students’ Association (KSA), Bijoy Bey at Dillai Gate on National Highway-36.
Bey said, “We have been called by the DC for talks. If the outcome is not satisfactory then the blockade will resume. The programme is not withdrawn but suspended.”
Earlier on the day, several organizations of Karbi Anglong launched economic blockade against Nagaland.
Members of the organizations blocked National Highway 26 in Hanjanglangso and National Highway 39 in Dillai.
Both Hanjanglangso and Dillai are located along the Assam-Nagaland border.
The organizations blocked the National Highway in protest against the encroachment of the Daldali Reserve Forest land by miscreants from Nagaland.
The miscreants are allegedly supported by the district administration of Dimapur district in Nagaland.
Intruders from Nagaland entered the forest with excavators and trucks at Disapur.
These organizations include the Karbi Students Association (KSA-Bijoy Bey), All Dimasa Students Union, Karbi Longri NC Hills Liberation Front, Karbi Students and Youth Council and Karbi Farmers Association.
The other agitating organisations are Karbi Unemployed Youth Association, UKYA, JACAS, AATSA, KAWJF, HPYA, UKAWA, KYJ and former United Peoples Democratic Solidarity, Students and Youth Council and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP).
