Several organizations in Assam’s Karbi Anglong launched an indefinite economic blockade against Nagaland on Tuesday.

Members of these organizations have blocked National Highway 26 in Hanjanglangso and National Highway 39 in Dillai.

Both Hanjanglangso and Dillai are on the Assam-Nagaland border.

These organizations have blocked the national highway in protest against the encroachment of the Daldali Reserve Forest land by miscreants from Nagaland.

The miscreants are being supported in their illegal encroachment activities by the district administration of Dimapur district in Nagaland.

Intruders from Nagaland entered the forest with excavators and trucks at Disapur.

They have build roads, erected electricity poles and houses after clearing the area of forest cover.

These organizations include the Karbi Students Association (KSA-Bijoy Bey), All Dimasa Students Union, Karbi Longri NC Hills Liberation Front, Karbi Students and Youth Council and Karbi Farmers Association.

Karbi Unemployed Youth Association, UKYA, JACAS, AATSA, KAWJF, HPYA, UKAWA, KYJ and former United Peoples Democratic Solidarity, Students and Youth Council and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) are some of the other organizations that have supported the economic blockade.
