The enrollment programme Aadhar cards for students began in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Monday.
Sonitpur additional deputy commissioner, Rohan Kumar Jha, inaugurated the programme at the Tezpur Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Tezpur.
The Sonitpur district education department will conduct the enrollment process in 10 nodal schools in the four development blocks of Naduar, Gabharu, Balipara and Dhekiajuli.
Each nodal school will be responsible for the enrollment of students of two-three more schools situated near it.
Jha asked the operators and supervisors to ensure timely and correct enrollment of Aadhaar so that the targets can be met on time.
He said each nodal school will enroll 25-30 students in one batch, with two batches per day. 500 students are to be enrolled across the district per day.
The target of enrolling 2,32,687 is expected to be completed in around two months.
The state government has provided each education block with two Aadhar kits.
20 supervisors/ operators have been selected for the purpose.
Technical online training has also been imparted to these supervisors/ operators recently.
