The Darrang district administration has made necessary arrangements to engage Aadhar card registration vendors in the seventy-five GPs of the district in addition to the existing enrolment centres.

This arrangement has been made in view of the growing demand for Aadhar cards for the PMAY beneficiaries after Aadhar registration is made mandatory to avail the benefits of the Central government scheme.

“Efforts have been made so that not a single PMAY beneficiary of the district is deprived of the scheme due to lack of Aadhar card,”, said Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah while talking to North East Now on Thursday.

Earlier on Wednesday, the DC directed Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sanjib Kumar Borah to make an enquiry into the allegation of anomalies while enrolment in a section of Aadhar centres, particularly in Sipajhar area.

It may be noted here that altogether thirty-two Aadhar enrollment centres are presently functioning in the district.
