Four more positive patients succumbed to Covid19 infections in Assam on Friday, taking the stateโ€™s death toll to 938.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the stateโ€™s Covid19 said:  โ€œSad to share the demise of four #COVID patients in Assam.โ€

The deceased have been identified as Tarun Chakraborty (54) of Dibrugarh; Samir Chetia (68) of Sivasagar; Salehuddin Ahmed (75) of Kamrup Metro and Tirtha Nath Dutta (59) of Sivasagar, health minister Sarma informed.

โ€œCondolences & prayers! Om Shanti,โ€ Sarma said.

Meanwhile, Assam has registered 335 new Covid19 cases on Friday, taking the stateโ€™s positive tally to 2,08,389.

Health minister Sarma in a tweet said the news cases were detected out of 25,883 tests.

โ€œ335 Cases detected out of 25883 tests conducted today, with positivity rate of 1.29%,โ€ Sarma said.

Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro has recorded 97 cases.

The health minister informed that 926 more patients were discharged on Friday.

The discharged cases crossed the 2 lakh mark on Friday, taking the total to 2,00,381, which is 96.15% of the total positive cases.

Assam currently has 7,067 active cases, which is 3.39% of the total positive cases.

The stateโ€™s Covid19 death rate stands at 0.45%.
