Nagaland Governor RN Ravi reviews progress of road projects at a meeting at Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Thursday.

The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) on Thursday assured to complete the construction of ongoing National Highway 39 (Dimapur-Kohima road) and two-lane roads in Nagaland before December 15.

The NHIDCL made the assurance at a review meeting called by Governor RN Ravi on the ongoing road projects in the state at Raj Bhavan in Kohima.

The Governor has been reviewing the status and progress of construction of the roads under NHIDCL in the state from time to time.

Today’s meeting was attended by Nagaland additional chief secretary and finance commissioner Sentiyanger Imchen, commissioner Rovilatuo Mor, Kohima deputy commissioner Mohammed Shihab Ali A, NHIDCL senior officials and contractors.

The meeting reviewed road projects such as Kohima-Jessami road, Kohima-bypass road, Kohima-Mao road, Dimapur-Peren road and Changtongya-Longleng road, a Raj Bhavan release said.

The meeting was told that the work between ongoing Kohima-Dimapur four lane project was slowed down due to rock sliding in several stretched of the road during the past months, the release said.

Ravi asked the contractors to expedite the ongoing works and complete them as per their assurance. The NHIDCL officials pointed to the problems in certain districts resulting in the halting of the ongoing works. In this connection, the Governor asked the state government to resolve the matter at the earliest.

The release added that the status and progress of NHIDCL road projects in the state are available at the Raj Bhavan website.
