The Indian government has blocked a total of 12 websites linked to pro-Khalistani outfits.
A media report quoted a source as saying that a total of 12 websites have been ordered to be blocked by the Union Electronics and Information Technology ministry under section 69 A of the IT Act.
Electronics and IT ministry is the nodal authority for monitoring cyberspace in India.
The websites were blocked for supporting pro-Khalistani activities, the source said on the condition of anonymity.
The websites which have been ordered to block include seva413, pb4u, sadapind, SFJ4Farmers, pbteam and others having “org” extension.
It has been reported that some of the blocked websites were being directly operated by Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), which is an outlawed organisation.
In the month of July, the central government blocked 40 websites belonging to SFJ for supporting secessionist activities.
Sikhs for Justice as part of its separatist agenda pushed for Sikh Referendum 2020.
The order to block these websites, which were carrying pro-Khalistani content, was issued on Monday.
The banned websites include SFJ4Farmers, pbteam, seva413, pb4u, sadapind, among others with “org” extension.
