During an operation, Murajhar police in Hojai district have seized a consignment of 90 kg cannabis, locally known as ganja.
According to sources, on specific inputs, Manja Police carried out the operation on Friday night and seized the cannabis from a house located at Jamunagaon in Murajhar.
Sources said the police team was led by the officer-in-charge of Murajhar police station, Kabir Singh Limboo.
“Murajahr Police launched a search operation based on a tip-off in a house, owned by Rukiya Begum,” sources said.
“During the operation, the police team was able to find out the consignment of cannabis, which was hidden in the house,” sources added.
The police have arrested Rukiya Begum along with one Jiaur Rahman for their involvement in the case.
Police are interrogating the duo.
“Further investigation is going on,” police said.
The market value of the seized cannabis will be lakhs, sources said.
