Noted Sikkim film actor DK Lepcha, born as Dhan Kumari Pradhan, died of COVID-19 on Monday.
According to officials, she had tested positive for the virus and passed away at the STNM Hospital.
Lepcha was also a diabetic.
Fondly called Mannu Tatha, she had appeared in many Nepali films, stage shows, music videos, telefilms and serials.
One of her last releases was the Priyanka Chopra-produced Nepali language film, Pahuna (2017).
Lepcha’s husband, Bhanu Lepcha (Beta), is also under quarantine.
As a political activist, Lepcha was associated with the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), where she was the convener of the party’s culture wing.
