Women officers posted at Yupia, the headquarters of Arunachal Pradesh’s Papum Pare district, on Tuesday came together to help a government primary school of the area, which was in need of a computer and other stationery items.
The team of officers, comprising district heads and administrators, on Tuesday visited the Yupia Government Upper Primary School and handed over a computer set, a computer table, almirah and chairs to the school authority.

The computer and other items were received by Obi Zirdo Rumi, the headmistress of the school.
The headmistress was delighted to have received the contribution from the wonderful women.
Rumi, on behalf of the school, thanked the officers for their contribution and said it would encourage her and her staff to work more diligently for the betterment of the students.

She shared that due to the non-availability of a computer, the school was facing a lot of problems in getting their paperwork done on time and were managing everything from their own means until now.
The whole idea of contributing a computer set to the school popped up when a lady officer from Yupia visited the school earlier this month.
While conversing with headmistress Rumi, the officer came to know that the school was running without a computer set, this, at a time when all the other institutions are moving towards online teaching.
The lady officer accordingly appealed to all her counterparts to contribute to the cause and there was an overwhelming response.
“Though the whole effort was to provide a single computer set, however, with the collective effort we ended up contributing a little more than that. A few male officers of the headquarters also contributed towards the cause,” one of the officers said.
The Government Upper Primary School, Yupia, at present, has more than 160 students who come from several nearby villages to pursue their education in the school, which, due to its outstanding academic performance, is a hit among the parents.
