Union road transport & highways minister Nitin Gadkari has tested positive for COVID19.
The news has been confirmed by Union minister Gadkari in a tweet on Wednesday.
Gadkari said after feeling weak on Tuesday, he consulted his doctor and during check-up, he tested positive for COVID19.
“Yesterday, I was feeling weak and consulted my Doctor. During the course of my check up, I have been tested COVID 19 positive,” Gadkari tweeted.
However, Gadkari said he is fine and has isolated himself.
“I am at present doing well with the blessings and good wishes of all. I have isolated myself,” said 63-year-old Gadkari, who also handles micro, small & medium enterprises.
In another tweet, the Union minister has requested those, who recently came into his contact, to remain careful and follow protocol.
“I request everyone who has come in my contact to be careful and follow the protocol. Stay safe,” Gadkari tweeted.

Earlier, at least 7 union ministers, including Union home minister Amit Shah and two dozen lawmakers have tested positive for the virus.
The other Union ministers, who have earlier tested COVID19 positive include Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, AYUSH minister Shirpad Naik, MoS for agriculture Kailash Choudhary, MoS for heavy industries and parliamentary affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal and petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
