The death of two more COVID19 infected patients in Jorhat district has increased the death toll of positive cases in the district to 21 on Tuesday.

Jorhat deputy commissioner Roshni A Korati informed on Tuesday evening that 68-year-old Ravindra Kumar Das of Basbari locality in Jorhat and 60-year-old Robin Sonowal of Mukti Nagar died of COVID19.

On Sunday, Korati informed that 65-year-old Ramesh Prasad Budhia of Thakurbari at AT Road in Jorhat had unfortunately died of COVID19.

Meanwhile, 134 more positive cases without travel history tested positive for COVID19 in Jorhat district on Tuesday.

With the detection of new cases, the total number of positive cases in Jorhat district increased to 7,343.

Korati stated that among the 134 positive cases detected on Tuesday, 14 were from Jorhat town.

The total number of active cases in the district on Tuesday was 1,684, the deputy commissioner stated.
