Braving the COVID-19 pandemic, Assam Don Bosco University inaugurated the new academic year on YouTube with a theme “Searching for Meaning in the bits and pieces of Life,” at the Tapesia campus of the university.
While inaugurating the new academic year and welcoming the new students, vice chancellor Fr. (Dr.) Stephen Mavely said, “We are living through an extraordinary time with this COVID-19 Pandemic throwing our lives out of gear.”
“Times as such call for just one thing that is resilience to fight against it, to overcome, to survive and to flourish once again. That is why we have started doing and we shall keep doing it,” the vice-chancellor said.
The Assam Don Bosco University resolved that it would do everything to ensure the students come out toppers living right through this pandemic and its challenges that keep testing our strength and peace of mind.
“It is against this backdrop; the university has designed a theme for our new academic year that is – Searching for meaning in the bits and pieces of life,” Fr. Mavely said.
Despite the difficult situation, the faculties of the Assam Don Bosco University have successfully conducted online classes for the students, the vice-chancellor said.
“We have also successfully conducted online examinations for the final year students. Apart from that, all our faculty members have undergone training preparing them to be proficient practitioners of online teaching and learning,” he added.
The inaugural session was attended by Fr. Johny Jose, Registrar, Assam Don Bosco University, directors of different schools and faculty members of the university.
