Mizoram has registered 5 new COVID19 cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 1,008 on Sunday.

Sharing the details about the latest COVID19 status, the directorate of information & public relations (DIPR), Mizoram, on its Twitter handle on Sunday said of the total cases, 831 are male and 177 are female.

Out of the new positive cases, Aizawl has reported 1 case while Kolasib and Mamit districts have reported 2 new positive cases each.

Mizoram currently has 424 active cases.

A total of 584 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals or Covid Care Centres across Mizoram after they recovered.

Of the active cases, Aizawl has 267 cases, Lunglei district has 17 cases while Siaha and Champhai districts have 1 active case each.

Kolasib district has 109 active cases, Serchhip has 8 cases, Lawngtlai 10, Mamit 9 and Hnahthial district has 2 active COVID9 cases.

Khawzawl and Saitual districts have no active case.

There is no report of any COVID19 death recorded in the state so far while 2 positive cases have migrated from the state.
