Manipur Cabinet has decided to impose a total lockdown for 7 days starting from 2 pm on July 23, 2020.
The decision has been taken in a meeting of the State Cabinet chaired by Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh view of the current COVID19 situation in the state.
Confirming the news, chief minister Singh in a tweet on Wednesday said the total lockdown in the state may be extended further for 7 more days.
The chief minister has appealed to the citizens of the state to follow the lockdown guidelines.
“In view of the current COVID-19 situation in Manipur, the emergency State cabinet meeting has decided to impose total lockdown for 7 days starting from 02:00 pm of July 23, 2020 which might be extended further for 7 more days,” the chief minister tweeted.
“I appeal all to abide by lockdown guidelines,” he added.

The total number of COVID19 positive cases registered in Manipur so far stands at 2,060 including 642 active cases and 1,418 recovered cases.
