On the day when Assam’s COVID19 tally stands at 18,666, a total of 715 other patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged from various hospitals across the state on Wednesday.

Sharing the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said: “Discharge Alert. 715 patients discharged today in Assam.”

“Always remember that good health is your biggest asset. Take care of yourself,” he added.

With the release of 715 patients, the total number of discharged cases in Assam has risen to 12,888 on Wednesday.

According to the data, shared by health minister Sarma, the active COVID19 cases in Assam now stand at 5,727 while 3 cases have migrated from the state.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 48 people in Assam.

On Wednesday, two more persons, including a doctor from Tinsukia, succumbed to COVID19 infections.

The second doctor from the state, who died of COVID19 infection, has been identified as Dr PK Sharma, a senior private medical practitioner from Tinsukia.

He died at Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH).

The another person who died of COVID19 on Wednesday was a 45-year-old COVID19 positive woman from Kamrup Metro district.

“Very sad to share that Smt Hira Devi (45) from Kamrup Metro & Dr Pradip Kumar Sharma (75) from Tinsukia succumbed to #COVID19 today, as per the report of Death Audit Board of Assam,” health minister Sarma said in an earlier tweet..
