Manipur: Final electoral rolls show net rise of 26,221 voters across 60 seats

Imphal: Manipur Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Arun Kumar Sinha on Sunday released the Final Photo Electoral Rolls for all 60 Assembly constituencies at the CEO Office in Lamphel, Imphal.

The final electoral roll puts the state’s total electorate at 19,60,620, marking a net increase of 26,221 voters from the 19,34,399 electors listed in the draft roll.

During the revision exercise, election authorities added 56,871 new voters while deleting 30,650 entries from the electoral rolls.

The revision resulted in notable changes across several hill districts. Kangpokpi recorded the sharpest decline, with its electorate falling by 11,471 from 99,885 in the draft roll to 88,414 in the final list. Senapati also registered a decrease of 4,780 voters, bringing its total electorate to 1,37,628.

Churachandpur, meanwhile, recorded the highest increase among the hill districts, adding 5,969 voters to reach a total of 1,61,123. It now has the largest electorate among the state’s hill districts.

Ukhrul also witnessed a significant increase of 5,292 voters, taking its total to 88,614 and placing it just above Kangpokpi.

The other hill districts also recorded changes in their electorates. Tamenglong added 1,750 voters to reach 69,973, while Chandel gained 993 voters, taking its total to 39,066.

Kamjong added 453 voters, followed by Pherzawl with 408 and Noney with 247. Tengnoupal recorded a marginal increase of 18 voters, taking its electorate to 39,929.

According to Sinha, the revision process involved extensive verification of electoral data. Authorities scrutinised 91,178 unmapped voters and issued notices to 11,30,655 people over discrepancies in their records, taking the total number of notices issued to 12,21,833.

Following hearings, 26,362 entries were removed from the electoral rolls on grounds including lack of supporting documents, death, absence and duplication.

The authorities also processed 96,985 claims and objections submitted during the revision process before finalising and publishing the electoral rolls for all 60 Assembly constituencies.
