Arunachal Pradesh has registered third COVID19 death on Monday.

According to health department officials, the state’s latest COVID19 victim has been identified as a 32-year-old male who died due to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome due to COVID19 infection with Diabetes Mellitus.

Health officials said the deceased is a businessman from E-Sector in Naharlagun.

The COVID19 positive patient was admitted to Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) at Naharlagun in Papum Pare district, on July 9 from the Covid Care Centre at Lekhi.

The state health department while sharing the data on the state’s COVID19 status on its Twitter handle on Monday night said 19 new COVID19 positive cases have been detected in Arunachal Pradesh on the day.

Out of the 19 positive cases, 11 are from the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR), 7 are from Changlang district and 1 case has been reported from Namsai district.

All the patients except 1 are “asymptomatic” and they have been shifted to the Covid Care Centre (CCC) and TRIHMS, the health department said.

Meanwhile, 13 patients, who were earlier infected by the virus have been discharged after they tested negative for COVID19.

While 7 patients have been discharged from Itanagar Capital Region (ICR), 4 other patients have been discharged from West Kameng district and 2 patients have been discharged from Changlang district.

The discharged patients will have to undergo 14-day home quarantine.

Chief minister Pema Khandu in a tweet said: “The most effective intervention in our fight against #coronavirus will be through personal behaviour changes – wearing mask always, maintaining social distance and washing hands regularly. These are universal measures, but effective and require constant reminder on us.”
