Assam Covid19 update

A total of 245 persons, who were earlier infected by Covid19, were discharged from various hospitals across Assam on Monday.

With these, the total number of discharged cases in Assam has risen to 2,205 while the state has registered 4,158 positive cases so far.

Sharing the good news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet said Assam has achieved a 53% recovery rate.

In his latest tweet on the state’s Covid19 status, the health minister said 39 more Covid19 patients were discharged from the hospitals on the day.

In an earlier tweet, the state health minister informed about the discharge of 206 Covid19 patients from hospitals.

With the release of a total of 245 Covid19 patients after their recovery from the disease, the number of active Covid19 cases in Assam stands at 1,942.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 8 persons in Assam while 3 cases have migrated from the state.

Meanwhile, Union health minister Harsh Vardhan on Monday said, even as the country saw a jump of over 11,000 cases for the third consecutive day and the death toll rose to 9,520, an early lockdown imposed by the government helped India in converting the exponential growth rate of coronavirus cases into a linear trend.

The number of Covid19 positive cases in the country rose to 3,32,424 with 11,502 new infections in the last 24 hours, while 325 new deaths were recorded, the Union health ministry said in its update.

In the last 24 hours, 7,419 COVID19 patients were cured, taking the total number of patients recovered so far to 1,69,797, the Union health ministry said.
