Tirap legislators Wanglin Lowangdong, Wanglam Sawin and Chakat Aboh on Thursday flagged off three ambulances procured from COVID-19 donations made by the people of the district from the district hospital in Khonsa.
Speaking on the occasion, Tirap Deputy Commissioner Bhanu Prabha said that the procurement of ambulances was one of the top priorities for the district and appreciated all including the MLAs for their contribution.
The DC said one out of the three ambulances would be placed at the disposal of Deomali administration and the other two would be kept at Khonsa, the district headquarters to carry out the Covid-19 activities.
The deputy commissioner also felicitated all the contributors on the occasion.
The flagging off ceremony was followed by a review meeting on Covid-19 preparedness of the district.
Meanwhile, in a bid to mitigate the shortage of beds in quarantine centres of Tirap district, Borduria-Bogapani legislator Lowangdong on Thursday handed over a total of 60 folding beds to the administration and officers concerned.
