The first group of seven persons, who tested positive for COVID19 last month, was discharged from the Haflong Civil Hospital amid a rousing send-off at the hospital premises on Thursday.
These seven persons, who recovered after treatment, were discharged after they tested negative for COVID19 twice.
The discharged patients were felicitated with gamosa and eatables in a small ceremony organised by the hospital authority.
Among those present during the ceremony were executive member (EM) of NCHAC, Nandita Gorlosa representing the chief executive member (CEM), EM medical in-charge Samuel Changsan and Dima Hasao deputy commissioner Paul Barua.
Joint director of health services, Dr. Dipali Barman, superintendent of Haflong Civil Hospital Dr. Kalpana Kemprai, nodal officer (medical) for COVID, Dr. Luhamdao Bathari and hospital administrator Nayan Goswami were also present at the ceremony.
The discharged persons are being taken to their respective homes by vehicles provided by the district administration.
They will have to go for 14-day mandatory home quarantine and will be under the supervision of the surveillance team during this.
Meanwhile, the District Covid19 Discharge Committee also released the 10 high-risk persons, who were earlier came into contact with these seven persons after their samples tested negative.
Besides, 48 persons from various institutional quarantine facilities in the district are also being released on Thursday as per the decision of the board after all of them tested negative for COVID19.
These 48 persons have been directed to go for home quarantine or community quarantine to complete their remaining days of mandatory 14-day quarantine period as per guidelines.
“They have been released subjected that their swab will be collected on the 7th day of their home or community quarantine counting release day as day 1,” the directorate of information & public relations, Haflong, said in a statement.
These 17 persons were from quarantine centres at Jawahar Novodaya Vidhyalaya, 5 from Hotel Joyeswari, 13 from Mahur Higher Secondary School, 3 from Haflong Govt College Girls’ Hostel, 3 from Elite Hotel and 7 from Siksha Bhawan.
“District administration will arrange for dropping the persons to their respective villages,” the DIPR, Haflong stated.
