A teashop worker of Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore who had stolen a bike to bring his family back home had returned it back to its owner after two weeks.

As per reports, the man Prasanth who was stranded in a village near Coimbatore wanted to take his wife and two children to his native place near Mannargudi in Thanjavur.

He then stole a bike on May 18 but had managed to return it back to its owner on May 29.

Suresh Kumar, the owner of the bike was asked to visit the delivery centre of a local parcel service company as the thief had parcelled him his bike.

Although Kumar was initially hesitant at first to follow the caller’s advice, he was pleasantly surprised to find his bike at the warehouse of the delivery centre.

The 34-year-old entrepreneur, who runs a lathe unit that manufactures engineering tools, had first approached a police station on the same when his bike was stolen in order to file a complaint.

However, the case was not registered as the police were busy with their lockdown duties.

Meanwhile, Kumar also managed to procure the CCTV footage in the hope of getting a clue about the theft.

The camera footage showed a man, clad in shirts and pants and without footwear, fleeing with his bike.

Kumar, only had to pay around Rs 1000 to take back his bike as the teashop worker had sent it back on a pay-at-delivery basis.
