Assam has registered 16 new COVID19 cases taking the state’s total to 682.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet at 11.55 pm on Tuesday said the infected patients are from Hojai, Golaghat, Darrang, Kamrup Metro and Kamrup Rural districts.
The health minister informed that 6 persons have tested positive for COVID19 in Hojai district and 6 others have tested positive in Golaghat district while 2 cases have been detected in Darrang district.
The two other positive cases have been reported from Kamrup Metro and Kamrup Rural districts.
“Alert ~ 16 new cases of #COVID19+ reported. 6 Hojai, 6 Golaghat, 2 Darrang,1 Kamrup Metro, 1 Kamrup,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
With the new cases, the number of positive cases registered in Assam so far has increased to 613.
Earlier, a total of 62 COVID19 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across the state after their complete recovery.
The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam while 2 cases migrated from the state.
“Total cases 682. Recovered 62. Active cases 613. Deaths 04. Migrated 03,” Sarma further said.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 143 positive cases have been registered in Assam.
