Tripura has registered 23 more COVID19 positive cases taking the state’s total to 232.
Confirming the news, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet at 11.05 pm on Tuesday said out of the infected patients, 18 are returnees from Maharashtra by train while 5 other came in contact with positive cases.
“More 23 people found COVID19 #POSITIVE in Tripura today. Among them 18 people have come from Maharashtra by train & 5 others were in contact of positive patients,” chief minister Deb tweeted.
With the new cases, the number of COVID19 positive cases in Tripura has increased to 65.
Earlier, a total of 165 COVID19 patients were discharged from hospitals in the state while 2 cases migrated.
“Positive Cases : 232. Active Cases : 65. Discharged : 165. Migrated : 02,” chief minister Deb added.
Earlier, Tripura registered 11 new COVID19 positive cases on Tuesday.
Tripura chief minister Deb in a tweet in the evening on Tuesday said out of the total infected patients, 10 are returnees from Mumbai by train.
The chief minister also said the other infected patient is a family member of a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan from the 86th Battalion based at Ambassa in Dhalai district.
According to sources, the patient is a pregnant woman which is wife of a BSF jawan.
No person has died of COVID19 infection in Tripura so far.
