Popular Japanese wrestler Hana Kimura died at the age of 22 after becoming a victim of cyberbullying.
As per reports, the wrestler, who appeared in Netflix’s reality show Terrace House, posted images of self-harm and a suicide note on social media.
She also posted an alarming message along with the images on her Twitter account which suggested that she had been mercilessly trolled with abusive messages on social media.
“Nearly 100 frank opinions every day. I couldn’t deny that I was hurt. I’m dead. Thank you for giving me a mother. It was a life I wanted to be loved.
“Thank you to everyone who supported me. I love it. I’m weak, ‘m sorry. I don’t want to be a human anymore.
“It was a life I wanted to be loved. Thank you everyone, I love you. Bye,” the message stated.
Japanese women’s professional wrestling promotion Stardom confirmed Kimura’s death.
“Stardom fans, we are very sorry to report that our Hana Kimura has passed away. Please be respectful and allow some time for things to process, and keep your thoughts and prayers with her family and friends. We appreciate your support during this difficult time,” it tweeted.
Kimura was a winner of Stardom’s 2019 Fighting Spirit Award.
She was one of the cast members of Netflix’s Terrace House which had been suspended recently due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The show follows three men and three women as they temporarily live together in a house.
