Upon realising his identity, the villagers called for his 68-year-old mother Bachuli Devi, who recognised him without fail.
Karki’s father has already expired.
His both brothers- one elder and one younger- also confirmed his identity.
Karki later revealed that he decided to leave home for work after passing high-school in 1995.
He said that he was happy to be back home after over two decades.
“I never forgot my family and I decided to return to my home when the lockdown was imposed,” Karki said.
“I will not leave my family again,” he added.
