A senior Parliament official, who works in the Editorial and Translation (E&T) services, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The infected official was going to work till May 12 in his office on the fifth floor of the Parliament annexe building.
This building is around 100 metres away from the main Parliament building.
This is the second time that a Parliament staffer has tested positive for COVID-19.
Last month a senior housekeeper also tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The E & T official had attended his office regularly before being sent into quarantine.
Another official informed that the case was reported on Thursday and since Friday morning, arrangements were made to seal a block of offices on the fifth floor of the annexe.
Sources informed that even though the building was thoroughly sanitized, it, however, would not affect the functioning of the Parliament secretariat.
Efforts are also on to identify people who have worked with the official and to keep them under observation.
