Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Friday said that it has opened its PRS counters at various locations for booking of reserved tickets.
The move comes a day after Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that Indian Railways is going to open reservation counters for booking of reserved tickets in a phased manner.

NFR urged people to book tickets by making payments through cards or digital modes.
It also said that people can book tickets through authorized agents/subagents and Common Service Centers (Suvidha Kendras).
“Indian Railways has decided to open reservation counters (PRS) for booking of reserved tickets in a phased manner from today,” NFR tweeted.

“Accordingly, PRS counters have opened at various locations of NFR. People are requested to pay by cards/digital modes,” it added.
“This important step has made railway ticket booking easy for all prospective travellers throughout India. Tickets can also be booked by authorized agents/subagents and Common Service Centers (Suvidha Kendras),” said NFR.
“However locations and numbers of counters to be opened and their timings will depend on the feasibility and as per requirement & local conditions,” it added.
Indian Railways on Thursday asked its zones to decide and notify opening of reservation counters as per local needs and conditions.
“Zonal railways may adhere to standard social distancing guidelines and observe the hygiene protocols in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” said Indian Railways.
