At a time when Assam continues to register new COVID19 positive cases every day, 6 more patients have been discharged from two different hospitals in Assam after their recovery from the disease.

Confirming this, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said the six patients have been discharged after their samples tested negative for COVID19 twice.

He informed that while two patients were discharged from the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) at Panbazar in Guwahati, four other patients were discharged from Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) in Cachar district of Assam’s Barak Valley.

With the new cases, the number of discharged COVID19 cases in Assam has increased to 54.

Now, the number of active COVID19 cases in the state has come down to 130.

“Glad that six patients have been discharged today after testing negative for #COVID19 twice. Two persons were admitted at MMCH, while four were at SMCH. This brings down our active cases to 130,” health minister Sarma tweeted.

Assam so far has registered 191 COVID19 cases.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam while 3 cases migrated from the state.
