Doctors at the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital in Barpeta confirmed one new positive COVID-19 case, which takes the Assam’s tally to 189.
Informing this on Wednesday morning, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Alert ~ One new #COVID19 positive case confirmed at Barpeta Medical College, where the tests were done. The patient is at Kokrajhar Quarantine Centre.”

With this, the total number of active cases in Assam now stands at 134.
So far, 4 persons have died due to coronavirus infection, while 48 patients have recovered and three persons have migrated.
