A couple in China was recently reunited with their son after searching him for a period of 32 years.

As per reports, the couple’s 34-year-old son Mao Yin was abducted from the entrance of a hotel in the city of Xian in Shaanxi province on October 17, 1988.

The police in China found him with the help of facial recognition technology.

They analyzed Yin’s childhood photos with facial recognition technology and came up with a simulated image of him as an adult.

In April this year, the police received a tip-off about a man from Sichuan Province in south-west China who had adopted a baby 32 years earlier.

They tracked him and later his DNA test confirmed his true identity following which he was reconciled with his parents on Monday.

A news conference showed the family having a tearful reunion.

Yin was snatched aged two, while his father Mao Zhenjing stopped to get him some water on the way home from nursery.

He was then sold to a childless couple in China’s Sichuan province who raised him as their son.

After their son was abducted, the hopeful parents never gave up their search and had continued looking for him.

Yin’s mother Li Jingzhi gave up her job and had handed out about 100,000 flyers in more than 10 provinces and municipalities to find him.

According to South China Morning Post, Li had appeared on numerous television shows in China hoping her own child would watch her on one of the programmes one day.

In 2007, she started volunteering with a group called ‘Baby Come Back Home’ to help other parents look for their missing children.

Moreover, the lady has helped reunite 29 children with their families until now.
