The Manipur government continues distribution of rice under PDS in various assembly constituency (AC), ensuring that the people have enough to sustain during the ongoing lockdown, official sources said.
A DIPR report stated that 2,268.82 quintals of rice under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) was distributed to the beneficiaries of Khangabok AC and Lilong AC in Thoubal District on Monday.
Beneficiaries of Khangabok AC were also distributed with 1,100 quintals of rice under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) and 407.3 quintals under Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS).
Apart from this, 3.5 quintals of rice under OMSS was distributed to NGOs in the District.
Lifting of rice was done in Thoubal District on Sunday for Lilong constituency (623.40 quintals under NFSA) and Khangabok AC (1,100 quintals under PMGKAY).
In Imphal West district, Thangmeiband AC of Imphal West District had completely lifted its allocated 1600.85 quintal rice under PMGKAY.
“3,046.4 quintals of rice under the same scheme was distributed to beneficiaries of Sekmai AC and Keishamthong AC of the District,” the report said.
Tamenglong AC reported lifting of 145 quintals of rice under OMSS and 477.40 quintals under NFSA from FCI Godown, Sangaiprou Monday.
“There was a lifting of 20.32 quintal of dal under PMGKAY for Nungba AC of Noney District,” it said.
In Kakching District too, 1,744.46 quintals of rice under PMGKAY and 702.67 quintals under OMSS was lifted for its Wabagai AC on Monday.
Ukhrul AC had completely lifted its allocated quantity of NFSA rice with the lifting of 1,169.25 quintals of rice.
“89.51 quintals and 20.47 quintal both under PMGKAY was lifted for Thongju AC and Yaiskul AC respectively Monday,” the report stated.
Heingang reported lifting of 30.80 quintals of OMSS dal and 85.57 quintals under PMGKAY on Saturday.
There was a lifting of 1,753.80 quintals of rice under PMGKAY for Thongju AC on Sunday.
