Union DoNER minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Sunday provided a sigh of relief to the students from the north-eastern of Delhi University.
Dr Singh clarified that these north-eastern students of DU will not have to vacate the hostel in view of lockdown.
He took to Twitter stating that the issue that arose on Saturday night as a result of eviction notice to some of them to leave the hostel has been sorted out.
Dr Singh tweeted:
‘Students from #Northeast in Delhi University hostel, please note.The issue that arose last night as a result of eviction notice to some of you to leave the hostel,has been sorted out. You can continue to stay where you are,comfortably and safely. Have spoken to VC #DU Prof Tyagi.’
Dr Singh said, he has spoken to the vice chancellor over the issue and students can continue to stay where they are.
Earlier, some students from the Northeast were asked to leave the hostel amid the nationwide lockdown.
