Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday appealed to the people of the State to extend support and cooperation to the government initiatives which are being taken up to tackle COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief Minister Biren’s appeal on Wednesday came out after the state Cabinet decided to resume lockdown restriction despite the State being categorized as green zone considering the development in the country and arrival of people stranded outside the State.
Biren tweeted, “I appeal to the people of the State to cooperate with the continued lockdown restrictions as per MHA guidelines. We cannot afford to be complacent now.”
In a video message to public which was circulated to media here, he also informed the decisions taken by the state Cabinet on Wednesday.
He said the State Cabinet meet held in the chair at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat decided to bear train fare for stranded people of the State and Rs 200 per head per day during community quarantine.
It may be mentioned that the two COVID-19 cases which were reported in the State on March 24 and April 2, have been discharged from hospital after treatment on April 1 and 21 last.
Since then no new case is reported till date.
Meanwhile, donations to CM’s COVID-19 Relief Fund are coming from different sections of the society.
The Chief Minister has expressed profound thanks to all those who have contributed to the fund.
