A mammoth Rs 1000 crore scam of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) has come to light on Saturday.

The scam involves former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, former EMs Rajib Brahma and Dhaneswar Goyary and other involved contractors.

This was revealed through RTI documents on Saturday.

Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech, UPPL CWC Central Committee member on Saturday alleged that BPF leaders and contractors are afraid that their corruption will come out during the Governor’s Rule.

“Thats why out of frustration and utmost tension Hagrama Mohilary said that he is still the unofficial chief of BTC,” Mech alleged.

Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech on behalf of the UPPL has addressed a press meet at Kokrajhar on Saturday and revealed that the scam took place in the Panchayat & Rural Development (P&RD) department and Welfare for Plain tribes and Backward classes (WPT & BC) Department.

In the press meet, Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech also mentioned the names, details and addresses of the contractors/supplier enterprises with whom former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary and former BTC EMs Daneswar Goyary and Rajib Brahma has made a huge scam of Rs 1000 crores in the BTC region from the year 2012 to 2019.

Mech has also said legal action will be initiated very soon against the corrupt BPF political leaders, officers and contractors of BTC who all have been involved in the huge scam.

Dev Mech has also appealed the Governor of Assam to initiate immediate inquiry or investigation over all the irregularities and misappropriation of government fund which took place in the last 17 years when BTC had been ruled by BPF party.
