Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday said as per protocol, two COVID19 positive patients can stay in one room but it should be quite big.
The state government has been questioned for keeping two COVID19 positive patients together in the same room.
“I would like to clarify that 2 patients are in one room and another is in a separate room,” said the Meghalaya chief minister Sangma.

“The protocols are very clear and in almost every other part of the country and in the world, the protocol allows two positive patients to be in the same room, but they only ask that the room should be quite big,” he said.
“That has been followed, and therefore, we are maintaining those protocols. The condition of all the three patients is stable” the CM added.
On rapid test kit, the chief minister said the ICMR has asked the governments not to use rapid test kit and as per the direction, the tests are put on hold.
He also informed that the seven members from the family of the 12th positive case, who were tested through rapid test kit on Tuesday, were tested on Wednesday and they had normal PCR tests, and the results were negative.
Meanwhile, as per the latest update, 59 more samples tested negative for COVID19.
Informing this, Meghalaya chief minister Sangma tweeted at 10.10 pm: “We just got results of 59 tests for today and all are negative.”
