Kerala on early Saturday morning recorded its third coronavirus-related death, informed government officials.

The deceased is a 71-year-old resident of Puducherryโ€™s Mahe. He was admitted to Pariyaram Medical College in Keralaโ€™s Kannur.

The deceased was suffering from multiple complications.

Doctors informed that the deceased was on ventilator support for the last two weeks.

Officials informed that the patient was admitted to a local hospital on March 27 and was discharged later.

He was readmitted to the hospital after he developed pneumonia and infected his both kidneys.

โ€œEven though he did not have any travel history, but he had participated in several community functions and programmes before he fell ill,โ€ doctors added.

It is worth mentioning here that Indiaโ€™s first positive COVID-19 case was reported from Kerala.

The state has reported the least number of deaths and has a good recovery rate.
