The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) will take a call on announcement of matriculation results only after the lockdown period ends.
This was informed by SEBA officials to Northeast Now over telephone on Thursday.
Notably, a section of media in the State has been circulating news that the matric results will be declared in the second week of June.
However, SEBA officials clarified that no such decision has been taken as yet.
SEBA chairman Ramesh Chandra Jain said around 84 per cent of the answer scripts have been checked before the nation-wide lockdown that began on March 25 last.
Jain also said the teachers will complete correcting the rest of the 16 per cent of answer scripts within two days after the lockdown ends.
Earlier, the SEBA had planned to announce the matriculation results by May 15.
Jain further said, with the lockdown going on, it will be premature to speculate as to when the results will be declared.
Meanwhile, SEBA has arranged for online classes for Class X students since March 25 last.
Subjects like science, mathematics, Assamese, Bodo and English are being taught online through EduAid in Youtube.
Now SEBA is planning to conduct unit tests online uploading the question papers on Youtube.
This was informed by the SEBA chairman.
The chairman further said, the class X students have to write their answer scripts and upload the same for their respective teachers to correct.
