A day after an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) resident doctor and his wife tested COVID-19 positive, the couple was blessed with a healthy baby boy on Friday.
Doctors at AIIMS said that the child, which was delivered through C-section, was doing well.

“This is the first delivery by a woman who has tested positive for coronavirus. The child is healthy and so far there has been no evidence of the virus transmission in the child,” the AIIMS doctors further said.
“The 29-year-old woman was operated upon by a team of 10 doctors. The operation was carried out in the isolation ward where she was kept under observation,” doctors informed.
A senior doctor informed that the mother was positive and asymptomatic and they were collecting samples of the infant as well.
