Passang Wangchuk Sona, former minister of Arunachal Pradesh, passed away on Friday morning at his Mechuka residence in Shi-Yomi district.
The 69-year-old Sona was not keeping well for the past few months, informed his family members.
He is survived by three sons, a daughter and grandchildren.
The present Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Passang Dorjee Sona is one of the sons of the deceased minister.

The later leader was the minister of mines & minerals and cooperation, besides food & civil supplies from 1995 to 1999 in the Arunachal Pradesh cabinet.
He also served as the Deputy Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
In his condolence message, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said, “In his demise, our state has lost a first-generation leader, who led from the front. His work for the downtrodden and needy will always be remembered.”
