Assam’s BTC supremo and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) president, Hagrama Mohillary has alleged that United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) president Pramod Boro who is contesting the BTC polls from Goibari and Kokilabari BTC constituency  has two voter ID cards violating clauses of The Representation of the People Act, 1950.

“I will file move State Election Commission against UPPL president, Pramod Boro over his possession of two voter id’s from Rangia and Tamulpur constituency, ” he said on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference at a hotel in Kokrajhar on Tuesday, Mohillary also appealed the State Election Commission to take cognizance of the matter and appealed the citizens to maintain the norms of the lockdown to prevent the outbreak of the corona virus pandemic.

Pertinently as per Section 17 of The Representation of the People Act, 1950, no person is entitled to be enrolled as a voter in more than one constituency.

Section 31 makes false declaration in the matter of inclusion or exclusion of voter rolls punishable with up to one year in prison.
