Keeping in view of the coronavirus outbreak, the district magistrate of West Garo Hills district in Meghalaya has directed to clean ATM panels with sodium hypochlorite solution in every two hours.
The district magistrate has issued an order on the need to follow protocols in banks, offices and commercial establishments like shops, hotels and others.
According to the order, all commonly-touched surfaces will have to be cleaned with freshly prepared sodium hypochlorite solution (liquid bleach) for maintaining the health and hygiene of the general public and as precautionary measures to contain the transmission of coronavirus.
“All commonly touched surfaces like door handles and other articles in offices and commercial establishments shall be sprayed with freshly prepared 1 per cent sodium hypochlorite solution (liquid bleach) in the morning and afternoon and wiped after 10 minutes with clean cloth,” the order said.
The order also said all ATM panels/buttons shall be sprayed with freshly prepared 1 per cent sodium hypochlorite solution (liquid bleach) every two hours and wiped with clean cloth after 10 minutes.
The order comes into force with immediate effect for the entire area of the West Garo Hills district and shall remain valid till March 31.
