A health worker in Rajasthan has been arrested for allegedly spreading rumours and fake news about coronavirus.

Identified as Anil Tank, the health worker was posted in Rajasthanโ€™s Dausa district and his services have also been terminated.

The contractual employee worked as a senior treatment supervisor in Mahuwa.

Police said that he was found circulating fake news related to the number of positive COVID-19 cases in the state.

He also spread rumours regarding the setting up of isolation wards to treat the patients.

Police sources informed that Tank was arrested for his โ€œstatement conducing to public mischiefโ€.
