Amid growing concerns over their ability to clear the adjusted gross revenue (AGR), the Centre on Friday decided to approve a relief package to Vodafone-Idea and Airtel.
Economic Times reported that the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) would review the statutory AGR dues based on the documents submitted by the telecom companies.
After reviewing the documents, the DoT would issue revised demand notices for balance liabilities.
It was reported earlier that financially-strapped Vodafone Idea would shut down operations in India if it doesn’t get any relief on its AGR dues.
The telco had submitted its self-assessment of statutory dues to DoT, which stands at Rs 21,533 crore.
