The NIPER, Guwahati hosted a design workshop titled ‘Design Thinking to Business Model Innovation and Product Development: Practical Insights and Lessons’ recently.

The workshop was sponsored by BIRAC regional Techno-entrepreneurship Promotion Centre (BRTC) under KIIT TBI, Bhubaneshwar.

Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), a public sector not for profit company under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India in collaboration of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology- Technology Business Incubator Bhubaneswar has created a entrepreneurship platform under the name of BRTC (BIRAC regional Techno-Entrepreneurship Promotion Centre).

Its aim is to promote and develop entrepreneurship ecosystem in East and the Northeast.

Dr Mrutyunjay Suar, CEO, KIIT-TBI; Dr Namrata Mishra, Head Bio-innovation; Rajiv Kangabam, Manager BRTC, KIIT-TBI; Dr VGM Naidu, Dr Sonali Roy, NIPER Guwahati graced the event.

The resource persons of the programme included Dr Satish Kalme, CEO of Comofi, Dhananjay Banthia, founder of Smart Acumen consulting, Dr Ravindra B Ghooi, director of Scientia clinical services, Dr Pankaj Upadhyay, IIT Guwahati and Dr Vinita Jindal, BIRAC.

They talked about the important areas for a successful career.

In the two-day workshop selected participants pitched in front of the mentors for a successful grant writing and presentation.

The program was attended from various institutes in and around Guwahati and neighbouring states including Meghalaya and Manipur.
