The District Child Protection unit of Assam’s Hojai organized an awareness meet at SOS Children’s Village on Wednesday evening.
The theme of the awareness meet was ‘Let’s Create the environment for children to live’.
In the meet, District Legal Service Authority secretary Pronita Morang graced as chief guest while deputy superintendent of police Dipti Mali was the special guest along with many other eminent guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Pronita Morang discussed in detail about the issues relating to child protection.
She further enlightened everyone about child related laws like child marriage prohibition act, juvenile justice care and protection act, child labour prohibition act and assured that every child in need of care and protection can approach DLSA without any hesitation.
DSP Dipti Mali spoke about the assistance one can avail from police department for protection of children.
During the programme, sanitary items were also distributed among the children.
Village director Paresh Badyakar lauded the efforts of DLSA Hojai for organizing massive awareness meets in the district, just in few days after it’s formation.
District child protection officer Purabi Gogoi, legal cum probation officer Beauty Gogoi, Angshuman Ghosh and Ruby Das were also present in the awareness meet.
